FAQs

  • What type of glass for my window or door?

    Depending on the location of the window/door, its area and size, this determines the type and thickness we use. Other factors like human impact

    risk etc are considered and this is in conjunction with our Australian Standards 1288.

  • What is the best type of shower screen for me?

    Depending on your budget and requirements.

    Fully framed - is the cheapest and most watertight, it has aluminium frame all around it and we use laminated glass. Semi-Framed - is the mid-range option. It has aluminium frame around the permitter (walls, floor and top) but the door is frameless and we use 6mm toughened glass with polished edges. Frameless - is the top of the range, no frame at all but we use 10mm toughened glass with polished edges and good quality hardware.

  • How do I keep my showerscreen clean?

    We recommend treating your new showerscreen with an Enduro Shield application, prior to using the showerscreen, which we can professionally apply for you. For Aftercare, we recommend using a 50/50 white vinegar and water mix in a spray bottle (let it sit for 20 minutes and longer for stubborn spots - be sure to make sure to wash any excess spray from the aluminium frame to avoid corrosion) and use a microfibre cloth wipe down. We also suggest and squeegee often to keep your shower screen looking nicer for longer.

  • What are the differences between the types of splash back glass?

    We use 6mm thick toughened glass for all our splashbacks. Clear toughened glass has a green tinge on the edge of the glass which is the natural iron content in the glass being visible. This is great for dark colours, or blue/green colours as it goes generally unnoticed and allows for people with a smaller budget. Ultra-clear toughened glass is slightly dearer but it has the iron taken out of it,

    which makes it virtually crystal clear and is perfect for lighter colours, whites, and colour match colours. Silver 10 is normal mirror that has been toughened. Silver 25 is a grey / smokey tinted mirror thatches been toughened.

  • What is the process to produce a glass splash back?

    We come to your home to discuss colours and measure the space (once all benchtops, carpentry and electrical works are completed), then once the quote is approved, we start proceeding with your custom glass order. This includes, cutting the glass to size, polishing the edges, processing any cutouts for powerpoints or holes, then the glass gets toughened in a furnace (for strength and

    heat resistance) then it goes to the spray painting area to be coated with your colour of choice. Once it is dry and has been quality checked, we can book in an installation date. We install the glass into place and then seal the perimeter with silicone.

  • What is our process for a shower screen installation?

    Once your tiles are completed, we can come and measure your new showerscreen using a tape measure and spirit level. We then fabricate your

    order (lead time can vary 1-3 weeks) and book you in for an installation date with our tradesman.
